Dr. Dwayne Raiford

Dr. Raiford serves as the directors’ president and founding principal for Icon Preparatory School.  He has worked in the field of education for over 18 years.  Since his inception into the field of education, he has worked in multiple roles including regional coordinator, area coordinator, teacher, department chair, assistant principal, content specialist, advisory panel member and chief executive officer.  Dr. Raiford has successfully worked to turn around schools in the states of  Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas and California.  He served as a 2013 Teach for America Corp Member in Houston, Texas.  He earned his Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida A&M University, completed a doctoral dissertation regarding supplemental education and its impact on student academic achievement and was selected as an American Education Research Association Clark Scholar.  Dr. Raiford has consistently led teachers and students to achieve academic excellence producing scholars who have ranked among the highest performing students on state assessments in multiple regions of the United States.
